나탈리아는 미국 캘리포니아 출신으로, 현재 세인트루이스를 기반으로 활동하는 재즈 댄서, 강사, 그리고 퍼포머입니다. 어린 시절부터 춤을 춰왔던 그녀는 2010년, 17살의 나이에 캘리포니아에서 스윙댄스를 처음 접하게 되었고, 발보아(Balboa)와 린디합(Lindy Hop)에 매료되었습니다. 이후 솔로 재즈(Solo Jazz), 컬리지엇 쉐그(Collegiate Shag), 그리고 캐롤라이나 쉐그(Carolina Shag), 세인트루이스 쉐그 ( St. Louis Shag)까지 폭넓게 탐구하며 다채로운 스윙 댄스 스타일을 익힌 올라운더(All-rounder) 댄서로 성장했습니다.

그녀가 스윙댄스를 사랑하는 가장 큰 이유는 재즈 음악과 그 안에서 펼쳐지는 자유로운 즉흥 표현입니다. 솔로든 파트너와 함께든, 순간을 즐기며 창의적으로 움직일 수 있는 자유로움이 그녀에게 가장 큰 매력으로 다가왔습니다. 또한, 이 문화 속에서 배운다는 것, 그리고 수업이든, 소셜 댄스든, 즉흥적인 잼(Jam) 세션이든, 다른 사람들과 함께 춤을 만들어가는 과정은 그녀에게 아름답고도 의미 있는 경험이며, 이를 함께할 수 있다는 것에 큰 감사함을 느끼고 있습니다.

이번 SEOUL Lindyfest를 통해 한국을 처음 방문하는 나탈리아는 린디합, 발보아, 어센틱 재즈, 그리고 쉐그 등 다양한 스타일을 자유롭게 넘나드는 올라운더 스윙 댄서로서 참가자들에게 풍부한 표현력과 깊이 있는 즉흥성을 전할 예정입니다. 그녀와 함께 재즈 음악 속에서 자유롭게 춤추고, 창의적인 움직임을 탐구하는 특별한 경험을 놓치지 마세요!

Natalia is a jazz dancer, teacher, and performer from Southern California, currently based in St. Louis, Missouri. She has been dancing most of her life but discovered Swing dance in 2010 at the age of 17 in California, where she first fell in love with Balboa and Lindy Hop. She then expanded her dance journey into Solo Jazz, Collegiate Shag, St. Louis Shag and Carolina Shag, becoming an all-rounder swing dancer skilled in multiple styles.

What she loves most about Swing dancing is jazz music and the freedom to improvise through movement, whether dancing solo or with a partner. To her, being a guest in this culture and creating together with others—whether in a class, a social dance, or a jam session—is a beautiful and meaningful experience that she feels privileged to be a part of.

At SEOUL Lindyfest, Natalia will be visiting Korea for the first time! As an all-rounder swing dancer, she will share her passion for Lindy Hop, Balboa, Authentic Jazz, and Shag, bringing a deep sense of musicality and improvisation to her classes.
