Skye는 1996년, 어머니의 권유로 처음 린디합을 시작했지만, 곧 스스로 소셜댄스, 스윙 음악, 그리고 린디합 커뮤니티에 대한 깊은 애정을 갖게 되었습니다. 이를 계기로 춤에 대한 관심이 넓어졌고, 발레, 모던 댄스, 재즈 댄스를 배우며 더욱 깊이 있는 무브먼트를 탐구했습니다.

1999년부터 그는 세계 곳곳에서 린디합을 가르치기 시작했으며, 미국 내 주요 주말 워크숍부터 대형 국제 캠프까지 다양한 무대에서 활동해 왔습니다. 또한, Minnie’s Moochers, Mad Dog, Silver Shadows와 같은 현대 린디합의 가장 영향력 있는 팀들의 창립 멤버로 활약하며, 린디합의 발전에 중요한 역할을 해왔습니다.

그는 ULHS, ILHC, ALHC, World Lindy Hop Championships 등 주요 린디합 대회에서 여러 우승 타이틀을 거머쥐며 세계적인 명성을 쌓았습니다. 린디합에 대한 깊은 애정은 그를 미국 역사와 문화 유산에 대한 연구로 이끌었고, 그 결과 2007년 조지 워싱턴 대학교에서 미국학 석사 학위를 취득하였습니다.

현재 런던에 거주하고 있는 Skye가 오랜만에 한국을 방문하여 SEOUL lindyfest 2025에서 함께할 예정입니다. 그의 춤을 직접 경험할 수 있는 특별한 기회를 놓치지 마세요!

Skye was first introduced to Lindy Hop in 1996 by his mother, but he quickly found his own love for social dancing, swing music, and the Lindy Hop community. This passion led him to explore dance more broadly, taking classes in ballet, modern, and jazz.

Since 1999, he has been teaching Lindy Hop around the world, from national weekend workshops to major international dance camps. He is also a founding member of some of the most influential modern Lindy Hop troupes, including Minnie’s Moochers, Mad Dog, and Silver Shadows.

Skye has won titles at all the major Lindy Hop competitions, including ULHS, ILHC, ALHC, and the World Lindy Hop Championships. His deep involvement in Lindy Hop sparked a greater interest in American history and cultural heritage, leading him to pursue a master’s degree in American Studies at The George Washington University, which he completed in 2007.

Currently residing in London, Skye is returning to Korea after a long time to be part of Seoul Lindyfest 2025. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience his incredible dancing firsthand!
